Generate Demand for your Expert SpeakingHow often have you attended events, including those of the larger and more expensive variety, and found yourself underwhelmed by far too many ‘supposed’ expert speakers – who had nothing new to say and/or bored you rigid?

And, then, found yourself quietly seething – thinking “I (or others you admire) could have given a much better talk and delivered far more value to this audience today…If only I/ they had been asked”?

How does this happen? How come event organisers seem to get it wrong so often –regularly inviting fully paid up members of ‘Drearyville United’ to take to their stages instead of you or other engaging expert speakers?

Here’s the ‘orrible truth.

The famous line “If we build it, they will come” from a movie called ‘Field of Dreams’ is not true…

…Unless, they’ve heard about you, like what they hear, and are minded to do something about it.

Instead, my boss when I made commercials in America in the early 1990s was right when he said:

“Eamonn – here’s a truism: you can have the best product in the universe. But, if you don’t tell anyone, a remarkable thing will happen…NOTHING!”

And therein lies a problem for expert speakers looking to drum up more demand for their services: If you don’t ace your marketing, disappointing results are sure to follow.

Of course, this doesn’t come as a surprise to the vast majority of my peers within the professional speaking community nor those I help to become confident expert speakers as an executive speech coach – who understand they need to market themselves if they want to speak more often…

…But, all too often, find the going tough and struggle to get the results they feel they deserve. And here’s why.

In this era of unrelenting information overload and diminished attention spans, it has never been more difficult to win visibility for businesses of every ilk. And many feel overwrought just thinking about where to start and where to focus.

See if this list of stuff modern ‘would be’ marketers commonly worry about sounds familiar to you:
